How would i know? it says browser and i run it.
it's not like a computer where i can click an about box.

it says it's updated. it's a tad older but it's huge and has all the bells and whistles.

I don't even use the tv interface. i have a dell hooked up to it and we stream tv and movies on it.

YES, there is (at least on the one I was working with).

Mine has a triple-bar "Settings" icon at the very right, aka
"hamburger" icon. Clicking that reveals this:

That's pretty good and avoids any limitations and awkwardness
of an unknown browser. But honestly, I find the Tizen tv
browser to be quite very much like a regular browser on a pc.

You can force it to check for updates. My friend's tv is over
4 yrs old, and I did the update for him this year.

well there's a little download arrow on the icon and i clicked it
so i thought they would do it.

i'm not planning on using it again, though.

How old is your Samsung TV? If you already mentioned that in another post, perhaps I don't remember.. I have a Samsung smart TV that I bought in 2015, and I've read Samsung is no longer supporting that platform and are only supporting their 2016 and newer TVs. I don't want to replace that TV yet, so I bought a Roku streaming device to connect to it.

it's not mine, but i looked up the model number and there's a review on it in 2017. it is big, curved and has usb 3 ports.

my experience with samsung smart tvs is the samsung software sucks. my ex had one and it would update and screw up all the time. hers was older than this one and it would get regular updates for some reason and this was 2018.

Yeah, no point to carry on with a perceived tv update if you
already have a browsing solution with the pc attached.

Thx for testing it for me though.

I was looking for a simple large-screen internet solution for
use in my shop to demo certain websites and/or products, and
    specifically that Crownland website.

If I could just mount a smarttv on the wall, and attach a
mouse/kb, I'd be all set. I wouldn't have room for an
    additional pc nearby.
