  • SEXYZmodem?

    I have a Door that will D/L .txt and .zip files. Its and old DOS 16 bit door. Can I use SEXYZ as the zmodem protocol or do i have to use a 16 bit zmodem like DSZ?
    I figured I would ask in here since Digital Man wrote it.

    I forgot to add that I'm using Mystic 32 bit on Windows 7 32 bit with and old DOS door.

    Most likely, no. Your door will pass a COM port number to DSZ (which means there needs to be a physical or virtualized COM port/UART for it to talk to). SEXYZ talks to TCP sockets... only.

    i tested this to be sure and Free Pascal for DOS was able to execute the windows version of unzip.exe with it's exec() function. so it's possible. perhaps you should give it a try and report back what the results are.

    Using NFU you can find your socket, then pass that to sexyz. More than
    likely, any way!

    oops, previous version was missing .bat file.

    DM: sorry for usurping the echo. had thought about doing the same thing more generically but fully parsing to match DSZ but that program is a mess and i don't know how dosxtrn/sbbsexec does this stuff.. NFU for netfossil seems to disable the fossil temporarily and the socket is .. unlocked? not really 100% what it's doing internally. sexyz didn't seem to see the socket handle as valid at all without it.
